Day 22 of NaPoWriMo required a poem to commemorate earth day. So anything about nature. While I was pondering about ideas for the poem, I looked out and realized it was raining.
Not the first time anyone’s written about you,
You make an impression every time you come through.
Sometimes you are welcomed, sometimes despised.
But you are too important to be ever ignored.
You make the ground come alive.
Provide nourishment for us to survive.
Your absence has killed people in the thousands,
Yet you don’t get the respect such mighty force commands.
Then I gave it a second thought,
About the respect for you I sought.
You are only a natural phenomenon my friend,
On this mighty earth whose wonders have no end.
