Day thirteen of NaPoWriMo. Today’s prompt is to write a poem with at least one kenning. I found the idea extremely appealing. After twelve days of writing I find my inspiration draining a little. I thought I will write about today. Sunday.
The creator of the day has in his honor,
A day of the week named after him.
He removes the dark blanket at an early hour,
Haven of rest holds me while the light is dim.
The lazy day starts at a leisurely pace,
The call of duty pauses for this day.
People relax forgetting about the rat race.
For pleasure and rest, work makes way.
To help you find your true calling,
Use this day for other pursuits.
As the day of the sun keeps on fading,
The time comes closer for business suits.
