Day seven of NaPoWriMo. Today’s prompt is to write a Tritina. A poem of three, three line stanzas where all lines end with one of three words in an ABC CAB BCA pattern with all three words appearing in the last line. A rather complicated task. I thought I’ll do better writing the last line first and then work out the stanzas. It turned out to be something right from the heart and autobiographical.
After doing a nine year stint at work,
desperately waiting for the week to end,
fantasizing about a much happier time.
Staring at computer screens all the time,
pretending to do some important work,
now it has come to a temporary end.
The soul sucking routine comes to an end,
with a job that’s not a waste of your time,
If you can make a difference with your work,
I’d work like that till the end of my time.
