Day nineteen of NaPoWriMo. Today’s prompt is to write a didactic poem. For those of you (like me) who don’t know what that means, it means to write a poem in the style of a how to do article. This was a hard one, as I had to think about a talent that I have that I could teach someone else.
Now while this may not be for everyone,
A few handy tips can’t hurt anyone.
This is not for the competitive eater,
But a guide to help tackle the buffet.
Now you may know the basics already,
You need to be hungry and love the food.
Know that starving can hurt your appetite,
You could have a snack a few hours ahead.
Eating things fast, often helps you eat more,
Do chew it first, so you don’t choke or gag.
Take care of your teeth to chew like a champ,
Keep fluids close, so you could wash it down.
Clothing around the waist should not be tight,
Bear in mind it gets tighter when you sit.
The best tip I could give though would be,
To not think about how much you’re eating.
